Have Fun With Graphic Design For Kids

New Milford Photo has some great ideas to help parents and teachers bring the world of graphic design to children in a fun and practical way.

[ClickPress, Mon Jun 11 2007] New Milford Photo has some great ideas to help parents and teachers bring the world of graphic design to children in a fun and practical way.

Parents and teachers are forever searching for new and interesting ways to give their children the skills they will need in the future. This can be a tough challenge sometimes but teaching graphic design on computers can be made into a fun and relevant game for children of any age.

Using New Milford Photos transfer paper available online from their website, www.newmilfordphoto.com, children can begin to create their own T-shirts and clothing, or even decorative mugs.

Iran, Genocide, and Human Rights: Is the UN Any Use at All?

Earlier this week the House of Representatives passed a resolution urging the UN Security Council to charge Iranian President Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with violating the UN convention on genocide for recent comments in which he declared that Israel should be "wiped off the map." Prior attempts to condemn Iran in the Security Council have consistently failed, including one introduced by France earlier this month in response to similar comments made by the Iranian president in the end of May which had even been endorsed by Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.The UN charter and the genocide convention both expressly prohibit the head of state of one nation advocating the destruction of another member nation, but the rules of the Security Council, which require a unanimous 15-member vote to condemn such a statement, have made it very difficult to take even such a largely symbolic action.

Designing For Motivation

Gamasutra recently posted an interesting article on motivational game design. The piece offers an in-depth examination of the motivations which drive gamers to keep playing and the tools which developers can use to tap into those motivations. Games such as Diablo and StarCraft serve as examples of different types of design. The reward system is the fundamental base for all motivation management. The rule is that every players effort must be rewarded. Even though the reward could take many forms, its role is mainly to motivate.

In action-RPG titles such as Diablo or Guild Wars, the gameplay is built on the growth of the character's strength. This is carried out by a system of experience and levels associated with a system of equipment. To reach the next level the player has to cumulate enough points of experience.
