I'M SPINNING AROUND by Hans Sparrow

I have to say, happy birthday to Ms Rollins.

I have debated whether I should tell you about another DJ I fear I may be a groupie of, but then I remembered one of my New Year’s resolutions was to share more with those around me – so here it goes.

DJ Bel West has been around long enough to start getting a name on the scene. Her track selection is right down my alley and never fails to get my little feet moving fast.

She is a natural on the decks and so passionate about her craft. And she embodies the most important part of being a truly successful DJ – she is approachable.

Now I can let out a huge sigh of relief because, after many years stashed away in the dark corner of a music store, I have come out and revealed myself as the DJ groupie I am.

Netlets for Thursday, Jan. 24

I've been driving this road daily for the past six months and have seen countless confused drivers who, I'd guess, are trying to find their way to the airport.

Since there's just one small sign around 54th Street, it's not uncommon to see drivers weaving between lanes as they try to decide which will be the correct one. Other times I've watched drivers simply stop in the middle of the street, I guess to think about it for a while.

This bone-headed behavior is beyond the scope of my simple plea but I certainly hope something is in the works to help out these confused drivers, some of whom are probably visitors. How about a big overhead sign pointing out which lane takes folks to the airport and the Mendota Bridge? Maybe we can scavenge a wee bit of money from the state's 150th birthday party I've been reading about.

Giuliani slips to third in latest Florida poll

He peppered Iowans with mailed campaign literature and some $300,000 in radio advertisements, only to finish sixth behind little-known Texas Rep. Ron Paul in the leadoff contest. New Hampshire's primary proved embarrassing as well with more than $3 million spent on ads and mail and countless visits — and a fourth-place showing.

"Everywhere this guy has gone, he's faded," said GOP strategist Tony Fabrizio, a Republican pollster.

As polls shifted, Giuliani has changed his story on Florida's role.

"It's all about Florida," he said Monday. Now, his campaign says the state is merely "important" — though it's unclear whether he has the money to be competitive later.

Senior aides have forgone paychecks this month. Giuliani was getting beat 2-1 earlier this week in TV-ad spending in several of the state's expensive media markets; he poured more money to his buys late Wednesday, which may have brought him to parity.
