| Future filmmakers editing at Champlain
Some of the students in the classroom were playing with fire. Others were making clouds swirl, dolphins jump.
These weren't merely leaps of fantasy. The students could see what they were doing. Manipulators, they were, turning the fire purple, making the dolphin jump out of the flames.
So it went Tuesday morning in the Champlain College course Audio-Visual Digital Editing 230. Eighteen students sat in front of Macs. The professor's was connected to a big screen in front that showed the menu they all had in a program called Final Cut Pro. They could watch her move a little arrow and highlight various design options, and then they could try it themselves on their own machines.
Well into a 2-hour class, they looked engaged. At the end of a discussion of experimental film, the professor, Karen Klove, shifted gears.

Endorsing Ron Paul, and Why Progressive Dems Should Support Ron Paul
Ron Paul is my first choice for a Republican candidate. There. I've said it. Of all the Republicans, he's the one I think is the best. His positions on the constitution, on the war, on globalism on nation building and interventionism are ones I can get behind. He's not perfect, but he's far, far ahead of any other Republican in the race.
