| Redskins mulling Fassel
The majority of calls to local sports talk radio stations have also been negative. Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn interviewed to be the offensive coordinator on Wednesday, the Post reported. The Redskins apparently also want to hire Rex Ryan as their new defensive coordinator, sources told The Post. However, Ryan is under contract with the Baltimore Ravens as their defensive coordinator. The moves appear to contradict statements Snyder made at the news conference announcing head coach Joe Gibbs's departure two weeks ago. Then, Snyder stressed his desire to maintain continuity and praised Gibbs for stabilizing a franchise that had gone through four head coaches in the four seasons before he arrived. Fassel was also a strong contender for the Redskins job in 2004, but all candidates were eclipsed when Gibbs, a Hall of Fame coach, decided to come out of retirement.
Cox says he'll give Wayne Co. a chance to act on possible charges
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Thursday she'll hold a news conference Friday morning to discuss the matter. Cox also said that an investigation his office conducted into the mayor and his office that was released in June 2003 did not look at text messages between Kilpatrick and Beatty. Those messages show they were involved in a romantic and sexual relationship in 2002 and early 2003. At a trial last summer the mayor and Beatty denied that they were romantically involved or that they fired Deputy Police Chief Gary Brown. Brown went on to win a $9-million jury verdict in his wrongful firing lawsuit against the city. We werent asking who he was sleeping with, Cox said Thursday. In June 2003, Cox called a rumor of a wild party at the mayors Manoogian Mansion an urban legend.
