| Councilman MikeK Recalls Knievel Action Figure
Top: Young MikeK playing with Evel Knievel action figure; bottom: MikeK receives inspiration from his childhood friends before leaving for a Coeur d'Alene City Council meeting. I had a classic Evel Knievel motorcycle riding action figure when I was a kid. The stunts my brothers and I would stage for that motorcycle toy were legendary (riding out a second story window, chasing the dog around the house without getting chewed to ribbons, you name it). RIP Evel. I wonder what happened to Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man who played the role of Evel's arch-nemesis in the boyhood action figure wars?/Councilman MikeK. Question: What was your favorite action figure/doll when you were little? .
Pink iPod nano debuts for spring, Valentine's, pink lovers
I have a tale to tell my friends (that's you guys) here at Infinite Loop. I received a text message from a friend of mine who works at a retail outlet last night (not an Apple Store), asking me if there was a new Apple announcement yesterday. I wrote back and said "no, why?" He proceeded to tell me that his store just got a shipment of pink iPod nanos. I went to the iPod nano page on Apple's site to check out the color lineup and saw the reddish/magenta color, and assumed that's what he was referring to. I moved on with my life. This morning, Apple announced a new, truly pink iPod nano. D'oh! Good job losing that scoop, Jacqui. Happy Birthday to me. Moving along, the "gorgeous" pink iPod nano, as Apple refers to it, is available immediately in 8GB for $199.
A hire calling
When the Ravens hired Harbaugh, they were basically saying it might take an additional two years for this team to get back on track. Despite impressive credentials as an assistant coach, Harbaugh has no head coaching experience. So he is going to have to learn, and he is going to make mistakes, especially in the first year. The club should hope he hires two good coordinators to hasten his learning curve. Also, look for general manager Ozzie Newsome to be more hands-on in Harbaugh's first year as compared with his recent relationship with former head coach Brian Billick. .
